Dr. med. dent. Gad Emara, MSc, PhD A dentist by passion – a scientist by conviction
My professional journey has been characterized by curiosity, dedication, and a commitment to a holistic understanding of dentistry – both medically and personally.
I completed my dental studies at Mansoura University in Egypt. Early on, I developed a particular interest in the psychological aspects of dentistry – especially in the question of why many patients, particularly children, are afraid of the dentist.
After moving to Austria, I successfully completed the recognition of my dental qualifications at the Medical University of Vienna in 2007. My diploma thesis focused on a topic that was then still receiving little attention:
"Children's Fear of the Dentist – Causes, Prevention, and Treatment."
At a time when psychological support in dentistry was not yet a focus, I scientifically analyzed the underlying causes of childhood dental anxiety and developed concepts for sensitive and sustainable treatment. This understanding still shapes my daily work today: trust, empathy, and communication are just as important to me as precision and expertise.
In 2018, I furthered my professional qualifications with a Master of Science (MSc) in Oral Surgery/Implantology in Austria. My scientific interest in complex surgical issues ultimately led me to pursue a doctorate.
In 2025, I successfully completed my PhD (Doctor of Philosophy). My dissertation focused on innovative implantological treatment concepts, particularly short implants as an alternative to sinus lifts for atrophic maxillae—a topic of high clinical relevance for modern, minimally invasive therapies.
Today, I combine:
- International education
- Scientific expertise
- Many years of clinical experience
- And a deep understanding of my patients' psychological needs
My aim is to offer state-of-the-art dentistry at the highest level—professionally excellent, scientifically sound, and compassionate.
Because successful dentistry doesn't begin in the mouth—it begins with trust.
